State of Origin has been the pinnacle of the Kick It Touch calendar since 2012.

Debuting in the middle of winter at Shaw Park, Queensland took out the inaugural Origin match against a Gallant mixed New South Wales side. ACU's own Jesse Bramwell crushed it with player of the match honours.

The QLD mens side clinched victory against a Blues' team boasting plenty of experienced Rugby League and traditional touch footy players. Speedster and QLD Lachlan Stanton was voted best on field by his peers.

The Mens and Mixed concept remained in 2013 with a number of new players making their Kick It Origin debut, including mixed star Matt Crooks who crossed for two long range tries.

Queensland maintained a strangle hold on the Origin trophy heading into the Representative scene hiatus. Swoop's Lachie Stanton remained the #1 player in the game with a second consecutive win as captain and player of the match.

In 2018, Origin was revived with a new venue at Carseldine playing host.

Driving rain failed to move a small crowd who witnessed some of the best and most memorable play, highlighted by a length of the field intercept by New South Wales' Chloe Storm.

Relocation was a common theme as the 2019 Origin took place at Stafford, Brothers rugby League Club. The match was also our first live stream with a full match reply.

In perhaps the closest scoreline to date, the Blues' pushed the Maroons all the way going down by just one point.

The desire was burning for the Blues. Following a year off due to covid-19, 2021 was a series of firsts for State of Origin.

Carseldine returned as host, the Mens and mixed format was rejuvenated, both matches were filmed, and it would be the final mid-week Origin fixture.

For the Blues' faithful, only one thing mattered - to win. They did just that was a famous 7-6 win over the Queensland mixed team. Luke Sungkar was named player of the match by referees and team coaches.

The Maroons mens bounced back with a crucial 6-4 win over a spirited Blues' side in the second match. Despite the loss, Blues' captain Kirk Barber took home player of the match honours.

Carseldine returned as host of the Origin in 2022, this time on a Sunday afternoon. An incredibly tight match that saw the scores at 1-1 up until the 30-minute mark. Queensland co-captains Jess Sleep and Eliza Mooney than took control to set up two quick tries.

The 2023 Maroons extend their mixed reign with a monster 11-point will over the Blues at Carseldine. Corey Pocock, Tony Martin and Will Smith all scored multiples while Jake Coolwell set up two.

A fresh outlook in 2024 saw more than half of both Queensland and New South Wales represent in Origin at Forest Lake. An outstanding match highlighted by three Lochie Beetson tries sealed a well deserved 10-5 win in hot conditions.
